Gordon Gillis
Gordon Gillis is the owner of Safety Services Hawaii, a Maui-based occupational health and safety management consulting firm serving construction companies across all four major islands. With more than 30 years of experience — including service as a Federal OSHA Compliance Officer and HIOSH Inspector — Gordon brings inspector-level insight to helping contractors build and maintain safety programs that work in the field, not just on paper.
SSH operates under the Precision Risk Architecture™ methodology — a data-driven approach to occupational safety that replaces guesswork with measurable leading and lagging indicators, baseline risk profiling, and structured gap analysis. Every recommendation is grounded in real inspection data, incident trends, and regulatory benchmarks, giving contractors a clear picture of where they stand and a prioritized path to where they need to be.
His firm specializes in full OHSMS development aligned to ANSI/ASSP Z10 and HIOSH/HAR Title 12, third-party jobsite inspections, training, and regulatory compliance support for residential, commercial, civil, and specialty trade contractors across NAICS Sector 23.
Gordon holds CSP certification (#18752) and HIOSH Certification #84, and currently serves as Chair of the Maui County Fire and Public Safety Commission. He is an active member of Hawaii's construction safety community and a resource for companies looking to reduce risk, lower EMR, and build a culture where workers go home safe every day.
