NETWORKING
To help our members’ businesses become and stay connected, we
offer many opportunities for business to business contact to promote
and market your company. Monthly Business After Hours
is our primary networking program. It is an excellent opportunity to
meet other members and their guests, to promote your business, and to
gain customers. We also offer other chamber events including Luncheon
Meetings (including the Governor’s Luncheon & the Mayor’s
Breakfast ), Annual Labor Law Workshop, Bi-Annual Economic Update Forums,
Educational Business Seminars & Workshops, our Annual Golf Tournament,
and our Annual Installation Event.
MADE IN MAUI MANUFACTURERS- MIM TRADE COUNCIL
The Made In Maui Trade Council sponsors image advertising, using the
MIM logo on your company products. Members also participate in Trade
Shows and Community Events. MIM is the ideal marketing and promotions
avenue for all products "Made in Maui". All Made in Maui members
can be found on the Made in Maui Website (www.madeinmaui.org).
This benefit of membership enhances the Made in Maui members’
ability to market on the World Wide Web. Also, monthly meetings are
being held to get members’ input into the future of marketing
this program
LEGISLATIVE & ECONOMIC ACTION
The Chamber participates at County, State and Federal levels. Our Chamber
follows and acts on issues affecting the business community as well
as public affairs. With a membership base close to 900 members that
continues to grow, we have a strong voice that make a difference. We
are Maui's most effective Business Advocate. We take the lead on
Economic Action through informational Bi-Annual Forums
held for the benefit of our membership and the community at large.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
The Chamber researches and provides the most timely seminars and workshops
for our business members as well as the community at large. In January
2005, the Maui Chamber of Commerce debuted its “Nuts &
Bolts” Educational Series. "Nuts & Bolts"
is a comprehensive series of classes to help build and improve your
business. These classes are taught by fellow business owners and Maui
Chamber of Commerce members. 2006 has proven to be another informative
year, as the Business Education Committee has continued with this educational
opportunity for members. Another form of education and training that
the Chamber offers is its Annual Employment Law (Labor
Law) Workshop, which is an all-day seminar, conducted by the Law Firm
of Torkildson, Katz, Fonseca, Moore & Hetherington. This seminar
gives Chamber members and employers the opportunity to get the latest
information in regards to labor law and employment policies.
MARKETING/PROMOTIONS
The Chamber offers WebSite exposure as a membership
benefit. Each member is given a complimentary listing on the Chamber
Website (www.mauichamber.com),
and their company name is hyper-linked to take visitors to their website,
thus allowing internet users to do business with you directly. Each
member also receives a listing in the Annual Membership Directory
which is circulated island wide and out of state. The Directory and
Web Site serve as constant marketing extensions of your company’s
services and products. Chamber activities and events are offered to
members for sponsorship as an additional opportunity to promote and
advertise your business.
The Quarterly
Newsletter is another area of marketing and promotions available
to members. This Newsletter is delivered quarterly to over 5500 Maui
businesses. It is the best business to business advertising venue on

GENERAL BENEFITS
The Chamber offers its members Pacific Business News subscription
discounts for new members; Subscriptions to HawaiiBusiness Magazine
and Maui No Ka Oi Magazine. We also have a general Business Referral/Resource
Center. The Chamber supports your company with our referral
program from both Out-of-State and On-Island inquires. We refer information
requests to Chamber Members only. In being a Chamber member, this identifies
you to the community as a business of integrity and commitment to the
services that you provide.
CHAMBER COMMITTEES- VOLUNTEERISM AT ITS BEST!
Our Chamber of Commerce is noted island wide and statewide for its continued
and consistent involvement in issues and matters affecting our business
climate and community at large. As such, all members are invited to
join in the networking and "voiceability" that being a Chamber
Committee Participant offers! Chamber members are able to share their
expertise, while making new contacts and gaining new information to
help them improve their workability and productivity.
The Chambers' Eight standing committees’ efforts are directed
toward upholding the Chamber's Mission of advancing and promoting economic
well-being of businesses, and encouraging responsible government while
retaining Maui's unique attributes.
